Operating principle
If the driver adjusts a desired temperature at the IHKA controls, the IHKA
calculates a corresponding
nominal temperature and compares it to the actual output temperature of the
electrical heating.
Low coolant temperature
When the coolant temperature is low, for example after driving off, or in
all-electric driving, the electric
changeover valve is activated by the Body Domain Controller (BDC). The

Displays and operation
The function does not have any separate display or operating elements. The
function is only available
in the HYBRID ECO PRO driving mode. The function cannot be deactivated.
Recuperation is displayed as usual in the instrument cluster below the
drive-ready state indicator
(CHARGE area).
Transferring digital keys
The vehicle owner can transfer a digital key for
his/her vehicle to another person with a compatible
smartphone via the BMW Connected app.
When a digital key is transferred, a transaction
number TAN will be generated. Another person
can pair the digital key in the vehicle with this
