BMW 3: Functional requirements
- Compatible device, with
Bluetooth interface.
- The vehicle key is in the vehicle.
- The device is ready for operation.
- Bluetooth is switched on in the vehicle and
on the device.
- The pairing readiness is displayed on the
Control Display.
- Bluetooth presettings, such as visibility, may
be required on the device; refer to the owner's
manual of the device.
Switching on Bluetooth
Via iDrive:
1. "COM".
2. "Mobile devices".
3. Move the Controller to the right.
4. "Settings".
5. "Bluetooth".
6. Select setting.
Activating/deactivating
telephone functions
To use all supported functions of a mobile
phone, activate the desired functions in the vehicle
prior to pairing the mobile phone with the vehicle
as needed.
Via iDrive:
1. "COM".
2. "Personalize menu".
3. Select the desired settings, for instance "Text
messages".
Pairing the mobile device with
the vehicle
Via iDrive:
1. "COM".
2. "Mobile devices".
3. Move the Controller to the right.
4. "New device".
5. "Phone calls and audio".
The vehicle's Bluetooth name is displayed on
the Control Display.
6. On the mobile device, search for Bluetooth
devices in the vicinity and select the vehicle.
A control number is displayed.
7. Compare the control number displayed on
the Control Display with the control number on the display of the mobile device,
and confirm
that the two match.
8. Select Bluetooth connection if necessary:
"Use BMW iDrive for phone calls, Bluetooth
audio, and apps."
The mobile device is connected to the vehicle
and displayed in the device list.
